Donaldson Dining Hall Presentation System

The Challenge

ABAC recently partnered with Georgia Grown to remodel the Donaldson Dining Hall on the Tifton campus. The dining hall features an open floor-plan and a hand-painted mural representing Georgia agriculture. Along with the open floor plan the Donaldson Dining Hall has a Presidential Dinning Room for small meetings, classes, and private dinners.

The 16,400 sq. ft. main dining area has six 65″ Christie 4K UHD displays mounted around the space. A large curved wall at the front of the room features a large mural. For presentations and other events, a large 133″ retractable projector screen was attached to the wall with a painted valance to blend into the mural. The screen is paired with a Maxell 8,000 lumen, 3LCD, laser projector. The displays and projectors can display a variety of content including, iMAG, on-demand content, cable streams, and digital signage. A PTZ camera located at the front of the room supplies a live feed for presentations and IMAG

Audio is supplied to the room via 14, 360-degree pendant speakers strategically placed in the ceiling grid. All audio and video is processed through Crestron processors and accessed by a Crestron touch display.

Attached to the Main Dining Room is a Small  Dining Room that has a scaled-down solution that includes a Maxell 5,000 Lumen 3LCD projector that projects onto a WallTalker projection surface. Audio is supplied via a single 360-degree pendant speaker. Control for audio, video and inputs is provided by a custom Creston 20 button controller.

All audio and video can be sent to any display in the room and the pendant speaker can be managed by four independent zones.
